monochrome.me.uk is the website of photographer, Hans ter Horst. Hans specializes in capturing iconic black and white images of cities, rural areas, streets and landscapes of the UK and many other countries in Europe, America and Asia.

The Landscape section contains photos I took in Kamikochi (Japan), the Netherland, Iceland and the UK. Hans's preference are empty landscapes, with maybe one or two frozen figures to accentuate the stillness of the landscape.

The Jazz section contains photos of Archie Shepp, Johnny Griffin, Cecil Taylor, Sun Ra Arkestra, Dizzy Gillespie and Jon Faddis in hot action taken at the North Sea Jazz festivals from 1981 until 1983.

The Rural section holds the rustic photos of  country life. The section contains photos from England, Holland, California and France.

The City section contains photos of Paris, Venice, San Francisco, London and Chicago.

The Street section holds mostly photos from Tokyo, the ultimate metropolis. Some of the photos in the Tokyo trains are a tribute to Nobuyoshi Araki who spent many years taking photos of people during his commute.

The Lensbaby 2.0 section holds the photos taken with a lensbaby 2.0.

The Vintage section contains a series of photos taken in the early 60s or late 50s of the last century.
