See also this post for some background on my visit to the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. Now that is 18 months since I visited, was it worth it? It was free, but it was pretty much a waste of time, so many more interesting places to visit in Tokyo that I can recommend: You walk up in a big group, you walk back down again and didn’t get to see anything. A lot of Japanese people in the group, mainly elderly women, hallowed in the presence of the emperor, it didn’t do anything for me…
