The smithy is the main film setting of HEIMAT, located in the fictitious town of Schabbach (it is actually located in Gehweiler, Hauptstraße 26.)
The film is 53 hours and 25 minutes long, making it one of the longest feature films in cinema history. If you haven’t seen it, make sure you pick up a copy on DVD, it really is awesome! If you like it, make sure to checkout the sequels "Die Zweite Heimat" (Leaving Home) and "Heimat 3" as well.
