Lighthouse at Dyrhólaey, Iceland. #2

Lighthouse at Dyrhólaey, Iceland
Lighthouse at Dyrhólaey, Iceland. Just before reaching Vík í Mýrdal when coming from Reykjavik, there is a tiny road that will bring you to a nature preserve and an amazing black beach with a steep road leading you up to the lighthouse with a view over the gigantic black arch of lava known as Dyrhólaey which forms the southernmost point of Iceland. South of here is only the Atlantic and finally the South Pole.

I don’t really like these selective colour photos, I’m sort of showing it to showcase what a DSLR tempts me to. In a few days I’ll be posting the original of this photo and it is quite nice, but it also shows that I would go out of my way to make a mediocre photo interesting by processing it. If this wouldn’t have worked, I might have been tempted to push the sliders of the HDRI tool way too far and create a monstrosity.
