I usually find school uniforms ugly and aimed at enforcing the idea that all kids are the same and that the one who sticks out gets hammered down by bullying. Nowadays, the “incorrect” brand of school bag can get a kid excluded from the group, very harsh, IMO. However, these uniforms are very cute although a bit old-fashioned as I’m sure you can see the same cap and uniform for the boys in the films that go back to before WWII.
