On the banks of river Berkel, in Lochem is a beautifully restored tea dome, known as the Staringkoepel. Built around 1850, it was owned by the youngest daughter of the famous poet Staring who lived in Vorden. The tea dome is only accessible by a ferry. Stroll from Lochem along the Berkel in the direction of Almen and pull yourself with the rope on the small ferry across the water to the other side. Inside is a small exhibition about the history of tea dome.
