Spot Removal

Working on a spot removal program, specifically working on the spot detection at the moment and on finding a good algorithm for rubbing out the spots. See the before and after of my first results, so far so good.
Amazing how the digital and the analogue worlds can corroborate

  1. Interesting. I just end up hand doing all mine. Sometimes I am lazy and don’t try for a clean scan. Other times there is so much dust I make an effort to clean the neg and try to get the scan as clean as I can then use Photoshop to touch out all the spots. Sometimes it’s a pain but I usually find myself enjoying the film goodness zoomed in 🙂

  2. Looks like a great improvement. I use a rocket blower on both sides of the negs prior to scan and that seems to help, but there are always still a few spots that remain. I am interested in your removal utility and if it works on Mac OS X. Thx.
